Her Story...
Gina, the youngest of 3, grew up in Glendale, California where she played everything from AYSO soccer to middle school softball. Always actively looking for a new challenge, Gina decided to follow in her brother Tony's footsteps and attend Bishop Alemany High School in the Fall of 2002. Little did she know she was about to meet the man of her dreams...
His Story...
Tim grew up in Santa Clarita, California with his parents and 3 siblings. He decided to follow in his family’s tradition (of over 30 years) by attending Bishop Alemany High School in the Fall of 2001. Growing up close to his siblings, Tim wanted to find a similar bond with his new friends at Alemany. Little did he know one of his best friends would become his future brother-in-law…
Tim was Tony’s shy, quiet, and ruggedly handsome best friend, while Gina was Tony's loud and energetic little sister. As their paths would cross from time to time, they would make the occasional small talk. It wasn’t until Tim’s football injury that their friendship turned into something more.
After dating all through the rest of high school and college, Tim got a job working for JPL in Pasadena, CA while Gina worked at the local Starbucks and coached Alemany cheerleading. They began merging their lives together and Tim soon realized it was time to pop the question.
In September (2011), just after their seven year anniversary, Tim got together with Francia (Gina’s Bridemaid) to plan out the proposal while Gina and Sophia (Gina’s Maid of Honor) were traveling through Italy. Tim was in the process of getting his private pilot license and thought he would surprise Gina by flying her up to Santa Barbara to propose on his birthday (February 2012). Francia and Sophia organized for a bunch of their best friends to meet at the restaurant down the coast from the proposal location. Since the weather wasn't fit for flying that day, Tim decided they would drive up to Santa Barbara instead and stop along the coast to take in some of the scenery. Gina, unaware as to what Tim was about to do, kept asking him why he was setting up the tripod at the beach. Tim calmed her curiousity and said they might as well use the camera for their upcoming Christmas photo. After pressing record, Tim walked over to Gina, got down on one knee, and began to explain why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. In true Gina fashion, she covered her mouth and was completely shocked before becoming immensely excited.
Tim lead Gina down the beach and surprised her with all their friends eagerly applauding as they entered the restaurant for the first time as an engaged couple. A perfect ending to the perfect proposal. This was the beginning of their new chapter together.
